
The greatest show on earth continues as we move from day 1 which saw an amazing and one of the best opening ceremony for an world cup event, as day 2 pick up the pace where we now have multiple matches per day instead of just one like on the inauguration day.
England cruise past Iran in a goal feast of a match!
England took on Iran for the first match of the night and it certainly did not disappoint as the fans were treated to an 8 goal thriller which saw England beat Iran comfortable 6-2.
Jude Bellingham opened up the scoring for England in the 35th minute with an emphatic header which was not only his first ever world cup goal at 19 years of age, but also his first international goal ever!

Bukayo Saka, who was the star of the match scored two in his first ever world cup appearance as well, earning praise from football fans all around the world.
Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish were the other scorers as all of them scored one, while M. Taremi was the sole scorer for Iran as he bagged two goals for Iran, one of them being a penalty in the last minute of the game.
Netherland came alive in the last 10 minutes.

In the second match of the night, the fans were treated to good football as Senegal fought hard and long into the night to match and sometimes even overpower the Dutch, but it was the last 10 minutes of the match that proved decisive as the Netherlands were able to keep the tempo and score in the 84th and 90+9 minutes through Cody Gakpo and D. Klaassen respectively.
USA Failed to Overcome Wales
For all their hype, USA failed to live up to its mark as it was apparent the young squad was still new to the world cup which saw USA drawing 1-1 with Wales who also are playing their World cup after a long time.
The match saw goals at both end of the night as T. Weah opened the scoring at 36th minute for United States before Gareth Bale, who is also playing his first world cup (yes, really!) equalized in the 82nd minute through a penalty.
Group B Standings
As night 2 concluded, we saw the table shape up as England were at the top of their group with all 3 points and positive 4 goal difference while Wales and USA are second and 3rd consecutively. Iran sit at the bottom of group B after they lost to England tonight with a negative four goal difference.
