Dell Inspiron 15 5515: Solid Notebook But Ryzen 7 Dissapoints

The Dell Inspiron 15 5515 is a basic business laptop that does what it’s supposed to do but also leaves a lot to be desired. Although it performs well in battery tests, the AMD Ryzen 7 CPU’s promise is not completely realised.

Starting at less than $1,000 USD (80,000 INR) , the Dell Inspiron 15 5515 is a cost-effective business laptop. The system has an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor clocked at 4.3 GHz, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 512 GB SSD in the H8P8F configuration. The iGPU AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 is used by Dell in place of a specialised graphics solution.
A basic business laptop from Dell, the Inspiron 15 5515, does what it’s supposed to do but also leaves a lot to be desired. Although it performs well in battery tests, the AMD Ryzen 7 CPU is not used to its fullest extent.

Large batteries and a constrained CPU work together to enable these timeframes. In the Dell Inspiron 15 5515, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor performs below average compared to similarly equipped rivals and the CPU average. Under testing, neither the iGPU nor the SSD precisely appear to be the best, or the quickest, option. In conjunction with the subpar but upgradeable RAM, Dell squanders this opportunity. The display is not exceptionally brilliant, among other things, and thus partially warrants criticism.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5515, which is offered in a nearly identical configuration with Windows 11 (instead of Windows 10 in the test device), performs admirably for indoor work and the chores typical for an office laptop in this price range.
