What an amazing fixture that has just ended! Real Madrid has just held onto their nerves of steel as they completed what was perhaps the biggest come back in the history of the competition ever!

And uneventful first half

Real Madrid hosted Manchester City at their home ground as they were trailing 3-4 going into the second leg against Manchester City.

And the game was really quite in the first half as Manchester City seemed to be in control during majority of it and were also close on scoring during some occasions.

Having no available advantage during this year meant that even a 0-0 draw against Real Madrid would see Manchester City progress through to the finals of Champions League against their domestic rivals Liverpool who beat Villarreal to advance to the finals as well.

Things got worse before they could get better!

And things would only go worse for Real Madrid as Manchester City where finally able to surpass the Real Madrid defence and scored in the 73rd minute to make the score 3-5 on aggregate.

Manchester City came really close on scoring on multiple occasions through the English youngster Phil Foden and also there a new signing Jack Grealish who saw his attempt cleared of the goal line.

It was Riyad Mahrez who finally broke the deadlock and gave Manchester City the lead which look like the fixture was over with only 17 minutes to go and Real Madrid needing 2 goals to level with them at least and take the fixture to the extra time.

When all hope seemed lost, Rodrygo gave Real Madrid a light of hope as he scored in the 90th minute to get the aggregate to 4-5 in favour of City, a goal which seemed like a consolation goal at that time

But lo and behold, Rodrygo scored a header again from Carvajal’s cross in the next minute to bring the entire fixture to level goals! That’s right, 2 goals in 2 minutes for Rodrygo saw the entire stadium erupt with joy which could only be described as the best comeback in the history of the compitition!!
