And it looks like the deal is back on and is finally going through. Barcelona will sign Arsenal super star Aubameyang on a loan and then permanent free transfer.
The story of the Exiled superstar
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has not played for Arsenal in over a month and has been exiled from the squad after he was punished for disciplinary actions for reasons not yet known to us.
Ever since he has been training alone and was even let go for AFCON much earlier than his teammates. It was also reported that Aubameyang tried coming to training early to impress the manager but it was not effective.
Arsenal are currently in Dubai during the 2 week premier League break and have been training in the warm weather, but Aubameyang has not travelled with the squad to Dubai, which more than confirms that his Arsenal career is more than over.
What’s even more surprising is that Jack Wilshire, who is not contracted to any club currently but trains with the Arsenal team, has also travelled with the squad to Dubai.
European Interest Among Arsenal’s Striker Problems.
Arsenal are currently facing a Striker deficit with Lacazette and Nketiah their only option up front, both of them have been really bad in form and have failed to even achieve double digits for the club this season.
And things don’t help when it’s been reported that both of these strikers will leave the club in the summer for free when their contract is up, and Nketiah has rejected contract offers from Arsenal on multiple occasions now.
Aubameyang has been on bad form this season too, failing to live upto his capabilities that saw him be a superstar in the previous 3 seasons at Arsenal, adding more to the striker problems at the club.
The strongest reports before were that Saudi club Al Hilal were the front runners to sign Aubameyang and take him out of the messy situation at Arsenal, but the plan changed as soon as there was interest from other European top clubs.
Many earlier reports was suggesting that both Barcelona and Juventus are interested in signing Arsenal forward Aubameyang who is currently been kept out of the squad on disciplinary actions.
Aubameyang’s desperate attempt and The Plan Almost Got Cancelled!
Barcelona were pushing for the forward to sign and it was looking all good, but the financial struggle and Barcelona ment that they could not afford the wage demands of the player who is currently earning £250,000 per week at Arsenal.
Aubameyang tried pushing for the move so much so that the player travelled to the city of Barcelona to push for the move with multiple reports saying that Arsenal weren’t even aware the player was in Spain.
But the financial struggle at Barcelona meant that they ask Arsenal to pay a part of Aubameyang’s salary to accumulate the transfer since they have been struggling with the wage structure and cannot afford to pay it all.
But Arsenal made it clear that they wanted no part in such deal and if Aubameyang want to transfer to the spanish club, Barcelona will have to pay his full salary and Arsenal will not contribute to it in any way shape or form.
The deal almost broke down and the Arsenal superstar made an excuse that he was only in the city for a vacation with his family but forgot the fact that he travelled alone to the city without any of his family, in an attempt to save face.
The Deal Is Finally On!
But in the last few hours of the transfer window remaining, it looks like the deal is back on and Barcelona will pay the salary to accumulate the player, and have even reached a verbal agreement with the player according to Fabrizio Romano
According to him, the player is currently going medical test in Barcelona while the board at the club are finalizing the details of the deal. Barcelona have guaranteed Arsenal that the deal will be completed before the deadline time meaning the career of the player at Arsenal is all but over.
Aubameyang who was involved in 121 goal contribution for the club in 165 appearances, we also manage to win the golden boot during his tenure at the club, Arsenal will be even more shot on striking options of front with the transfer window almost shut not making any new signings.
