Barcelona would need to do a major overhaul of their current to squad is they have to have some hope to overturn their current despair and bring Barcelona into a new chapter.

The current ageing squad is underperforming compared to what they are capable of, and the front line problems of Barcelona means that they are not scoring goals like this should be for club of this stature.

Lenglet was the main defender against Bayern Munich as Gerard pique seems to have slowed down in his ability because of his age, and the defense just could not keep up with the pacy attack of Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski fails to equal Ronaldo’s record.

With this match, it looked certain that Bayern Munich legendary striker Robert Lewandowski would score against Barcelona as he always does, but he failed to score against them tonight.

This means that Lewandowski failed to match the record of Cristiano Ronaldo of scoring in every single match of the champions League group stage. Ajax striker Sebastian Haller is the only other player that has managed to achieve this feat after scoring in every match in UCL this season.

It is yet to be seen who Barcelona will face in the UEFA Europa League stages, with Germany’s Borussia Dortmund seem to be one of the major rivals who also got dropped down from the champions League.
