When electronic cigarettes were first introduced only a few years ago the products were viewed – and often promoted – as a smoking gimmick. There was much curiosity from consumers even then. Today, smokers are pleasantly surprised to find the best electronic cigarettes are now a real alternative to tobacco use.
The quality of the best e-cigarette is judged by the volume of the vapor produced. Dense vapor provides a more satisfying experience for the smoker as well as better delivery of nicotine solution. Cheap e-cigs often yield a thin, weak vapor while the best e-cigarette brands such as Green Smoke are well known for the high vapor volume their products produce.

Vapor volume and refill solutions are big topics of conversation in online forums devoted to electronic cigarette benefits and to e-cigarette disadvantages. Discussions continue in coffee shops and workplaces with e-smokers sharing personal experience and recommending their favorite brands.
When the conversation is with a tobacco user, e-smokers focus on the pros of using electronic cigarettes as a substitute for harmful tobacco. Most smokers who now use e-cigarettes learned about the products from other ex-tobacco users. The professional images and ads on websites offering e-cigarettes are compelling but there is nothing like information from a real person who has tried this new product.

Nicotine patches and nicotine gums were available only with a doctor’s prescription when they were first introduced. After several years of proven safety when taken as directed the products were offered for sale over the counter. The quit smoking products were an instant hit with smokers.
These products work by providing a source of nicotine that is meant to slake the cravings of the smoker. Gradually over a period of ten or more weeks the level of nicotine is reduced until the smoker no longer needs the stop smoking products at all.

Innovative advanced electronic cigarettes sold today are a far cry from the cheap e-cigarette novelty items of only a few years ago. Technological advances have developed a product that is a real and common sense option for smokers.
Old versions had heavy batteries that made them feel clumsy when held in the e-smoker’s hand. The weak vapor and short battery live did not provide a satisfying smoke for consumers and the nicotine delivered was often not sufficient to stop cravings of the smoker.

Electronic cigarettes have a short history as they were introduced in 2003 by the SBT Co. Ltd. of Beijing, China. After the first launch, Ruyan developed the electronic products further and introduced electronic cigarettes to the European market at a 2006 Austrian conference. Marketing promotions assigned the name “Electro fag” to electronic cigarettes.
A replacement for tobacco was not the vision of those who developed e-cigarettes. They were offering a nicotine delivery system that smokers could use to soothe their need for a “fix” when cigarette smoking was not an option available to them. Aggressive marketers soon began advertising e-cigs as a method to quit smoking. Manufacturers did not approve the advertising and the World Health Organization condemned the ads with a statement that there was a yet no proof of the benefits of smoking electronic cigarettes.
